Sorry, I've Been Lax

I know it has been a while and you are all waiting to hear the ongoing saga of the creation of www.dontgotravel.com.

Things are moving ahead nicely and I am working on the functionality of the site right now.

I'll tell you al a bit about what the website is going to do and if anyone has any ideas please let me know and I might incorporate your ideas into the site.

Basically the concept is for people to advise other people of things that are available to do in their own locale. So that if you are someone from the Houston area you would go into the site and look for things that other people from Houston recommend doing in the Houston area.

The site is browse-able as well as search-able. We intend to allow for searches based on multiple criteria including excitement level, age appropriateness, 'what to pack' and of course location. (If there are any other fields that you feel should be search-able please let me know.)

We are going to include local historical trivia, FAQs about the travel destination as well as discussion groups to be open for commenting on the attraction and other things to do while you are there.

Pictures are going to be linked to from your own picture hosting site and you will be able to link to videos of these attractions that you put up on our channel on YouTube.

I have a lot more to say and will keep you all updated over the next bit, but if you have any ideas please keep me informed.

In the meantime - Keep On Walkin'

Hey Kiva,
I have been keeping up with what you are doing and i am excited for you.....u mentioned that we could suggest searchable items for you site. i think that you could/ should include a time item (i.e. how long a excursion will take, such as a museum might only be one afternoon as opposed to a site that could be an entire day)

or maybe even a suggester if u choose one something would pop up and let people know that what they are thinking of doing would go nicely with anohter site not so far away and would fit in with time constaints.....

that is if for now.....

have a great one..

Al

The war Israel if fighting is far from over. The real battle, for Israel's right to exist and prosper and for a safer Middle East for our children to grow up in, is yet to be fought. This battle will not be fought in the streets of Gaza but in the halls of the UN and the White House. To win this battle we need a strong government, resolved to do the best for Israel and its citizens.

This is a crucial election where in the fate of the country will be decided. If you want a strong, right-wing government determined to defend Israel's NATIONAL interests, we invite you to participate in a unique, unprecedented event Yisrael Beytenu will be holding this Thursday, January 22nd at the Shalom Hotel in Bayit Vegan, for the English speaking community. Key figures such as Dr. Uzi Landau, Ambassador Danny Ayalon and Adv. David Rotem will speak about the policies and platform of Yisrael Beytenu.

As a party with a history of attracting new immigrants, Yisrael Beytenu has identified the English-speaking community as one of its key constituencies. As proof of this, former Ambassador to the U.S. Ayalon, until recently co-Chair of Nefesh B'Nefesh, was asked to head the Anglo division at Yisrael Beytenu. This stands in stark contradiction to most other political parties which do not assign such a high-profile figure or any significant resources for the Anglo community campaign.

If you wish to hear more about the party that's set to become, according to recent polls, the third largest party in the Knesset, about the party with the highest percentage of women likely to becomes MK's, which also has the highest Anglo on any of the major lists in Danny Hershtal, formerly of Toronto
Come meet out candidates:
Venue: Shalom Hotel, 22 Shacharai Street, Bayit Vegan, Jerusalem (Behind Shaarei Tzedek Hospital)

Date: Thursday, January 22th 2009, at 8:00 PM
